Keep Showing Up – The War Cry of a Spinning® Instructor
A heartfelt reflection from the front of the studio — where every ride tells a story, every rider matters, and showing up is the most powerful move of all.

By Helen Farrow | Spinning® Master Instructor, PROS Presenter, and Spinning® Instructor based in Manchester, UK
Each week, I take my place at the front of the studio, gazing out at an ever-changing sea of faces. Amongst the whirr of wheels and the pulse of music, I see stories unfolding — familiar riders who return time and again, newcomers braving their very first class, and old friends who have become part of the fabric of this community.
At the Front of the Room
As a Spinning® Instructor, I’m far more than the person shouting out the next interval or choreographing a playlist. I get to know my riders as individuals.
I notice when you’re nursing an injury, when you’ve been away on holiday, or when you’re preparing for an upcoming event. I sense when you’re carrying the weight of a loss, and I celebrate with you when there’s a win — big or small.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, tentatively clipping in for the first time, or a seasoned athlete chasing marginal gains, it’s a privilege to have your trust as you work towards a healthier, happier version of yourself.
My Only Ask: Keep Showing Up
People often ask what I want in return for my efforts. Is it recognition? A full class?
The truth is, none of those things matter. What I want is far more meaningful: I want you to keep showing up. Not for me, not to stroke my ego, but for yourself.
Results don’t appear overnight. There will be days when progress feels slow and motivation wavers. But I promise you this — the only way to guarantee you won’t succeed is to stop coming.
Just as much as I’m here for you, I want you to be here for yourself. Let the motivation come from the joy of being part of something special — from seeing what you’re capable of, and from the quiet satisfaction of saying, I did that.
The War Cry
So here’s my rallying cry — my call to arms: keep showing up.
No matter how you’re feeling, no matter what the week has thrown at you, don’t underestimate the power of consistency.
Let the rush of the ride, the camaraderie in the room, and the drive to better yourself be the spark that gets you back in the saddle, time and time again.
Why We Ride
Spinning® genuinely brings joy into my life — the community, the music, the movement, and the focus that make each session deeply rewarding. The energy in the room and the shared sense of purpose stay with me long after the ride is over.
If you’re curious, come and experience an authentic Spinning® class for yourself. Feel the rhythm, the connection, and the sense of accomplishment that come from giving it your all.
And if you’re already a regular in the saddle, help spread the word — share your story, inspire someone new, and let others know just how transformative and uplifting Spinning® can be.
And you know what else? That’s right — keep showing up. Because every time you do, you’re not just building strength; you’re shaping the spirit of what Spinning® stands for.
